JUNE NEWS FROM GABRIEL'S

Do you wanna dance?

I had the opportunity to be a guest dancer in last December's performance of "The Nutcracker Ballet." Now, I am not a dancer…much less a ballerina! The real ballerinas in the performance spent 4 rehearsals to teach several of us guests how to do the "step, ball-change" and some hops and some twirls …yes, it took 4 rehearsals for some of us to get it! Nevertheless, on the big night, I was privileged to get to watch the rest of the performance from backstage…up close and personal! I was totally awed by the dedication, self discipline and talent the real dancers possess.

There is not a lot of money in the arts right now and many work another job so they can pursue their first love and still have a roof over their heads. I was so impressed by these folks and their sacrifices.

As a result of my time with the dancers, I decided to host the upcoming fundraiser for the Georgia Ballet on June 27th. Please read below for details and join us in supporting these talented artists in our community.
